September Micro-Wedding for Claire & Andrew

September Micro-Wedding for Claire & Andrew

Claire and Andrew decided to go ahead with their September micro-wedding despite all the difficulties of 2020. With only 15 guests, this intimate, unique celebration was a joy to be a part of!

Their ceremony was laid-back and relaxed. A traditional church service was followed by an intimate restaurant lunch for the fifteen guests.

They wanted bold, bright and cheerful flowers, to give impact in the large church space, for the small number of guests. They also wanted to celebrate the gorgeous time of year, mid-September, when their ceremony took place.

As a September micro-wedding, the floral budget could do a little more. We had only two bouquets to make, and a limited reception space to decorate, and Autumnal garden flowers were still readily available. There was therefore a little more available for those final touches, like potted plant favours and plentiful table settings and candles.

We used dahlias and fuchsias to bring warmth and complement the drama of the huge stone church. Cheerful dahlias in every variety alongside the last sweetpeas, roses and ammi meanwhile sat alongside garden flowers in Claire’s bountiful, cheerful bouquet.

We used more dramatic reds in the historic church in Middle Mayfield. Through the reception flowers (held at Ashbourne restaurant Lamplight), and bouquet, we chose more cheerful pastels and bright pops of colour to create a cohesive yet relaxed look.

Nothing was too fussy in the floral design here. The design mimicked the gorgeous, relaxed bride who happily agreed with any and all ideas we proposed!
